Madeline Bachner Lane

Madeline Bachner Lane has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Madeline is currently serving as the Chief Education Officer at The Colorado Mountain Club. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Evaluation and Sustainability Consultant for Nature Kids Lafayette, where they assessed and evaluated program providers for the NKJN project. Madeline also has experience as the Program Director at Cottonwood Institute, where they managed and collaborated with a team, hired and supervised contracted instructors, and updated curriculum. Madeline has worked as an Environmental Educator and Roving Leader at Boulder County Youth Corp, partnering with the Education Liaison and implementing lessons on the local environment. In addition, Madeline has worked as a Wildlife Biologist Guide at Teton Science Schools, educating clients about conservation issues. Madeline also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the ECO-fair at Teton Sustainability Project and Pursue Balance, coordinating and supervising volunteers, evaluating the event, and managing social networking. Madeline has a background in community advocacy and conservation work as a Community Advocacy and Ranch Intern at Murie Center. Madeline has also worked as a Naturalist and Trip Leader at Chewonki Foundation, developing and implementing natural history programs and leading wilderness trips. Lastly, they have experience as a Hiking Guide at Quetzaltrekkers, collaborating with an international team to guide treks in Guatemala.

Madeline Bachner Lane has a diverse education history. Madeline obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Fine Arts from Earlham College, which they attended from 1998 to 2002. During their time at Earlham College, they also studied at the University of Aberdeen for a brief period in 2001. Madeline further pursued their interest in Biology by earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Earlham College.

Madeline later attended Lesley University from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Environmental Education. Additionally, they received certifications in First Aid and Risk Management from NOLS/WMI in the years 2003 to 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Madeline obtained the Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medical Institute in 2003. Madeline also completed the Howspace Introduction to Digital Facilitation certification from Howspace in March 2022.
