Jim Barborak is a highly experienced conservation professional currently serving as Senior Adviser and Co-Director at the Colorado State University Center for Protected Area Management since 2009. Over a distinguished career spanning several decades, Jim has contributed significantly to various organizations, including the Tropical Science Center and IUCN WCPA, as a member devoted to conservation efforts. Previous roles include Protected Area Specialist with Conservation International and the Wildlife Conservation Society, where Jim played a pivotal role in establishing the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. With a foundation in Natural Resources from The Ohio State University and further studies at Yale University, Jim's expertise encompasses training and capacity building in protected areas across Central America and beyond, complemented by early contributions to Honduras's national protected area system during time spent as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
