Steven Lovaas is an accomplished information security professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Colorado State University System since February 2021, Lovaas has also held the position of Information Security Officer at Colorado State University since 2005. Additional experiences include serving as President of the Colorado Science Olympiad from 2011 to 2019, and various positions in academia and technology, including Adjunct Professor at Norwich University and Network Security Administrator at Poudre School District. Lovaas's educational background includes a PhD (ABD) in Public Communication & Technology from Colorado State University, an MS in Information Assurance from Norwich University, and a BS in Computer Networking from Regis University, along with a BA in Music and Philosophy from the University of Connecticut.
