Spie Brenda Garrett

Brenda Garrett, MS SPHR SIE has over 20 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Brenda started their career as a Human Resources Manager at Gart Sports, Co. in 1994. Since then, they have held various HR roles, including Human Resources Manager at The Parent Company, Human Resources Professional Internal Consultant at LMC Right Start, Inc., and Human Resources Professional and Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver.

In 2005, Brenda started their own business, where they provided HR services such as resume review, career counseling, and exit interview projects. Brenda also worked on HR projects within the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools.

Brenda joined Medicus Healthcare Solutions in 2013 as a Human Resources Generalist, where they supported the West Coast office with full life cycle recruiting and future HR planning.

Since 2014, Brenda has been working at the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association. Brenda initially joined as a Senior HR Generalist and quickly advanced to become the Director of Human Resources and eventually the Sr. Director of Human Resources. In their current role, Brenda strategically leads and directs the HR infrastructure and people strategy for the organization, overseeing a $1M annual budget.

Throughout their career, Brenda has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic planning skills, as well as expertise in recruitment, training, and employee relations.

Brenda Garrett, MS SPHR SIE, holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Management & Organization, which they obtained from the University of Colorado Denver between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, from 1989 to 1993.

In addition to their academic achievements, Brenda Garrett also holds the certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), which they obtained from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in June 2015.
