María Eugenia Martín Hidalgo's work experience began in 2006 when they worked as a Technician in the TPM Department at Unilever. María Eugenia then moved on to a role as a Technical Support in the Electronic Engineering Department at Arkema.

In 2009, they joined UPC - Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya as an Adjunct Professor, teaching a core subject and organizing production in Lean Manufacturing. María Eugenia was also a Project Manager, handling tasks such as disseminating information about funding opportunities, preparing grant applications, managing projects, and updating the project database.

From 2011 to 2015, María worked at Parc UPC as an Office Manager and Marketing & Communication Officer. Their responsibilities included web design, SEO, social media management, benchmarking, event planning, and preparing press releases and communication materials.

In 2015, they became a Member of Women in Mobile, where they contributed to communications activities.

From 2016 to 2017, María participated in the d·HEALTH Barcelona Fellowship program at Moebio Barcelona (Biocat), as an Entrepreneur in MedTech. María Eugenia completed a clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, identifying unmet clinical needs and developing a medical device and business model for haemodialysis patients and centers.

In 2017, María joined the Universitat de Barcelona as an Innovation and Business Development professional. Their role involved designing and executing a business development plan for a novel technology developed by researchers from the Electronics Department. The technology had potential applications in healthcare, Industry 4.0, and the food industry.

Most recently, in 2018, María became the CEO and Co-Founder of ColorSensing, a technology-based company that develops INDUSTRY 4.0 solutions using a disruptive color correction and quantification method for images. These solutions range from Telemedicine Imaging tools and Colorimetric Test Digitization in the healthcare sector to Smart Packaging solutions for the food industry.

Maria Eugenia Martín Hidalgo's education history includes a range of degrees and certifications. María Eugenia earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Electronics Engineering from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in 2006. In 2010, they completed an Engineering program in Industrial Organization from the same institution. In the same year, they also attended Babson College for an Entrepreneurship Program focused on Innovation and International Business.

In 2008-2009, Maria Eugenia studied at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya for a degree in Ingeniería en Organización Industrial. María Eugenia later pursued a degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health Sciences (d·HEALTH - Design Health Barcelona) at Universitat de Barcelona in 2016.

Maria Eugenia also furthered their education with several certifications. María Eugenia obtained a Cambridge English: First (FCE) certification from the University of Cambridge in 2001, followed by a Europa Zertifikat - B1 Deutsch, German + 96h course (1 month) from Die Neue Schule in August 2010. In July 2013, they obtained a Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) certification from the University of Cambridge.
