Meg Rutledge, PhD has a background in environmental management and has held various leadership roles in organizations focused on biodiversity threats, conservation, and environmental education. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Columbia Land Trust, Meg works with a team to conserve lands, waters, and wildlife in the Columbia River Region. Prior to this role, Meg was the Director of Biodiversity Threats at the Department of Conservation in New Zealand, where she led a team focusing on predator control, biosecurity, and climate change adaptation. With a wealth of experience in environmental leadership and conservation, Meg has also served as a mentor at Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and held positions on boards and committees within the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia and Natureland Wildlife Trust. Meg's educational background includes a PhD in Environmental Management from The University of Auckland, a Masters of Environmental Science from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Sciences from Florida Atlantic University.

Columbia Land Trust conserves and cares for vital lands, waters, and wildlife of the Columbia River region through sound science and strong relationships. Since 1990, the Land Trust has protected more than 43,000 acres of land with help from more than 3,000 members. Our service region stretches across both Oregon and Washington from the Pacific Ocean to the eastern edge of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area near the John Day River. We are headquartered on the beautiful Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington. We also have field offices in Portland, Hood River, and Astoria.
