Tamara King

Tamara King, MLIS, APR, serves as the Chief Equity and Engagement Officer at Richland Library since December 2014, also holding the title of Community Relations Director. Prior experience includes roles as Communications Manager at the South Carolina Department of Commerce and Senior Public Information Officer for Richland County Government. Tamara's earlier career featured positions as a Motivational Speaker at Monster Worldwide and General Assignment News Reporter at WIS News. Educated at the University of South Carolina, Tamara obtained a Master's in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, with additional accreditation from the Universal Accreditation Board in Public Relations since January 2021.
