Della Watkins

Della Watkins has worked in the art industry since 1983. Della began their career as an Art Educator for Henrico County Schools, Virginia Beach City Schools, and Charlottesville City Schools. In 1997, they joined the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts as Chief Educator, then became Associate Director of Education and Statewide Partnerships, followed by Director of Metropolitan Education and Manager of School and Family Programs. In 2013, they were appointed Executive Director of the Taubman Museum of Art. In 2017, they were appointed Executive Director of the Columbia Museum of Art.

Della Watkins obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Art History from James Madison University and a Master of Arts Education (MAE) in Arts Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
