Jackie Adams has been working in the art industry for over 20 years. Jackie began their career in 1995 as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the SC Governors School for the Arts and Humanities. In 1999, they started working at Guy Lipscomb Art Studio as Art Studio Manager and also began working at Lewis & Clark Contemporary Furniture Makers as Office Manager. In 2001, they became a K5 Art Teacher at Richland County School District One. In 2002, they opened their own business, Keane Art Studio, as an Artist/Framer/Sole Proprietor. In 2005, they began working at Columbia Museum of Art as a Columbia Museum of Art, a Lecturer in the B.A. Art Program, Gallery Coordinator for the Goodall Gallery, and Creative Director for the Georgia O'Keeffe Centennial Celebration. In 2016, they became the Director of Education & Engagement and Director of Art and Learning at Columbia Museum of Art.
Jackie Adams attended Columbia College (SC) from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art. Jackie then attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities from 1993 and obtained a Certificate in Visual Art. Finally, they attended Winthrop University from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Arts Administration for the Nonprofit Sector.
