Moises Mata

Moises Mata is a dedicated aerospace and computer science student at Columbia University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. As Co-President of the Columbia Space Initiative since September 2023, Moises orchestrates operations and strategic initiatives for Columbia's largest engineering student organization. Previous roles include Treasurer for the initiative, where financial oversight and budgeting support contributed to various projects. Moises is also actively involved in research at the A2R Lab, focusing on an open-source model-predictive control solver, TinyMPC. Experience at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory includes roles as a Flight Software Engineering Intern and SURF@JPL Research Fellow, where Moises developed software for spacecraft missions and contributed to key research projects. Additional tutoring experience has been gained at Columbia University's Berick Center for Student Advising, assisting peers in calculus and digital systems.
