James Toelle has had a diverse work experience in the field of Information Technology. James started their career as the Chief Information Officer at Muscogee County School District in 1986 and held this position until 2014. In 2014, they became the Director of Information Technology (CIO) at Columbus Consolidated Government. Additionally, they were an Adjunct Faculty Member at Troy University from 2007 to 2014.

James Toelle has a diverse education history. James completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Teacher Education at Auburn University in 1986. Following this, they earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Education from Columbus State University in 1997. James then pursued a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Columbus State University in 1998.

In 2005, they achieved a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Argosy University.

Continuing their dedication to learning, James completed Post Doctoral Studies in Information Technology at Troy University in 2007. Lastly, in 2019, they obtained a Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) certification from The University of Georgia.
