Lance Deaton Mja

Lance Deaton, MJA, PMP, serves as Deputy Chief at the Columbus, Georgia Police Department, with a career spanning from January 2003 to the present, where responsibilities have included Assistant Shift Commander in the Bureau of Patrol Services and Commander of the Traffic Unit. Previously, Lance held the position of Sergeant in the Homicide Unit, contributing as a founding member and supervisor, and worked as a Detective in the Robbery and Homicide Unit. Early in the career, Lance served as a Patrol Officer and a Fatality Investigator. Prior experience includes working as an Insurance Appraiser at Property Damage Appraisers, Inc. from June 1997 to January 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University, as well as training in Organizational Leadership from Northwestern University.
