Xiaowen Shan

Xiaowen Shan is a Chair Professor at BNU-HKBU United International College, where they have been serving since 2023. Previously, they held the position of Chair Professor and Department Head at Southern University of Science & Technology from 2020 to 2023. Xiaowen's extensive experience includes roles as a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft from 1998 to 2005, and as a Director of Advanced Physics Algorithms at Exa Corporation from 2005 to 2012, where they directed the development of complex fluid CFD software. They also worked as a Staff Member at Los Alamos Laboratory from 1991 to 1998, and served as a Distinguished Engineer at COMAC in 2015. Xiaowen earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Dartmouth College between 1988 and 1991.
