VP, Corporate Affairs at Comcast

Charlie Douglas is Vice President of Corporate Affairs. In this role, he is responsible for generating positive publicity and reputational goodwill for several strategic corporate values and key initiatives. These include: Internet Essentials, which is designed to help close the digital divide for millions of low-income Americans; Community Impact, which includes employee volunteerism and making investments in technical skill development for youths and adults; Diversity & Inclusion, which encompasses the Company’s efforts to celebrate and promote diverse and innovative thinking across all aspects of our culture and our business; and Veterans Affairs, which is part of our Company’s efforts to be one of America’s most military-friendly employers.

Prior to this role, Charlie was an Executive Director, and responsible for all proactive and reactive consumer product media relations associated with Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Voice, Xfinity Home, and the Internet Essentials program. Prior to joining Comcast in 2007, Charlie was a Vice President at APCO Worldwide, a global, full-service, strategic communications firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. Before that, he was a Director at Burson-Marsteller, one of the largest, global, public relations firms in the world.

Throughout his career, Charlie has not only worked on a wide range of consumer and technology products, but also on crisis, litigation, and internal communications. Charlie has placed stories in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Associated Press, Reuters, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post, CNET, WIRED, Engadget, Digital Trends, and The Verge, among many others. Charlie is a speechwriter and ghostwriter and he is spending more and more of his time leveraging social media to engage with a variety of stakeholder groups and influencers.

Charlie graduated from Skidmore College with a BA in English. He also has a Master of Philosophy degree from Oxford University. He lives just outside Philadelphia with his wife and two boys.
