Joachim Economou

Joachim Economou is an experienced Engineering Manager currently leading an 11-person multidisciplinary team at commercetools since July 2023. Previously, Joachim held the position of Engineering Manager at OLX Group from October 2018 to October 2021, where leadership of a hybrid team resulted in significant advancements in the automation of machine learning workflows for trust and safety. Earlier roles include Senior Engineer at OLX Group, where Joachim designed the Trust and Safety platform, and various positions as a Back End Developer and Full Stack Developer across multiple companies, notably at Hubrick and Netmechanics Ltd. In addition to professional experience, Joachim served as a private tutor in Computer Science from 2005 to 2016, educating numerous undergraduate and graduate students. Education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete, completed in 2004.
