John Steward

John Steward is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in marketing, financial services, and retail payment solutions. Currently serving as a Founding Board Member at CommercialTribe since January 2016, John has a proven track record in developing effective sales managers. During tenure at U.S. Bank from February 2016 to February 2020 as President of Retail Payment Solutions, John led significant initiatives in retail banking. Previously, at McKinsey & Company from 2013 to February 2016, John provided strategic advice in marketing and customer growth. Notably, John held various senior leadership roles at American Express from 1987 to 2013, including Executive Vice President & GM, where John managed multibillion-dollar businesses and drove significant profit growth across international markets. John holds an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, complemented by a BA in Asian Studies from Northwestern University.
