Dr. Marco Wagner

Dr. Marco Wagner is a Senior Economist at Commerzbank AG since December 2011, specializing in economic and policy analysis for Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, and Japan, alongside capital market issues. Prior to this role, Dr. Wagner worked as an Economist for Financial Markets at the German Council of Economic Experts from August 2009 to December 2011, focusing on financial market analysis, regulation, and stability proposals, while engaging with significant domestic and international stakeholders. Dr. Wagner also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Bayreuth from September 2005 to July 2009, concentrating on macroeconomics and international economics, contributing to scholarly publications, and presenting research at various conferences. Dr. Wagner holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bayreuth and a Diplom in Economics from the same institution, along with foundational education from the University of Regensburg.
