Heiko Schwender

Heiko is a Partner at CommerzVentures with a mission to back ambitious founders leveraging technology and empathy to rebuild the financial services industry. He works with portfolio companies including Concirrus, eToro, Fraugster, Mosaic Smart Data, and OpenLegacy.

An investment banker by trade with a passion for technology innovation, Heiko provided corporate finance advice to tech companies and banks for years. He continued his career at Commerzbank's group strategy department, where he co-headed the overarching digitisation and innovation topics for the bank, before kicking off CommerzVentures in October 2014.

Heiko is a mentor with Startup Bootcamp Fintech and FinTech Innovation Lab in London and earned an MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth Business School where he focused on strategy and entrepreneurship. When not at work, he tries to keep fit with outdoor activities and enjoys spending time with his family.
