Karl Richardson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Karl started their career as an Account Executive at Murray Consultants, working with clients in various sectors including FMCG, sport, and finance. Following this, they worked as a Consultant at Slattery Communications, where they gained experience in sports marketing and consumer divisions, specializing in sponsorship negotiation and activation, as well as public relations programs for blue-chip clients. Karl then joined the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) as the Head of Communications & Media, where they developed and led the communications department, managing external communications and public affairs functions for the organization. Karl also handled media relations and operations for representative teams. Their next role was as the Head of Communications & Marketing at the Rehab Group, where they were responsible for corporate communications, internal communication across jurisdictions, marketing strategy, digital strategy, event management, and crisis management. Currently, Karl holds the position of Head of Communications and Public Affairs at the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).
Karl Richardson pursued their education starting from 1988 to 1994 at The High School Dublin, where they completed their secondary education. Karl then went on to attend Trinity College Dublin from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Classical Civilisation and Theology. Following this, Karl joined Technological University Dublin in 1999 and completed a Master of Arts (Honours) degree in Public Relations in 2000. In 2016, they furthered their education by obtaining a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute.
