Dennis Nelson is an experienced law enforcement professional with a diverse background in leadership and community engagement. Currently serving as Warden for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners since October 2014, Dennis also contributes as an Advisory Board Member for the Public Safety Institute at Reinhardt University. As an Assessor and Team Leader for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) since 1994, Dennis conducts on-site assessments of law enforcement agencies. Previously, Dennis held key positions including Chief of Police for the Metter Police Department and Deputy Chief at the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
