Richard McDonald is a seasoned police captain with extensive experience in law enforcement and education. At the West Orange Police Department since July 2000, Richard McDonald currently leads the Office of Professional Development and Community Affairs while also serving as the department's Accreditation Manager, Public Information Officer, and Social Media Coordinator. In addition to their role at the police department, Richard McDonald serves as a National Assessor for CALEA and is an instructor at the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy. As a Board of Directors member for the New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition, Richard actively contributes to the professional development of law enforcement personnel. Richard's educational contributions also extend to guest lecturing at Kean University and Rutgers Business School, focusing on criminology and essential skills for incoming graduate students. Richard holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
