Michael, a fourth generation member of the SGC family, began his part-time career when he was 10 years old working after school, on holidays and weekends. He attended Cornell University, Lehigh University and Tel Aviv University
As a young man, Michael joined the Israel Defense Force, where he served with distinction in a front line combat unit. After living in Israel for five years, he moved back to the United States, where he applied the principles he learned in the IDF to his everyday life– integrity, honor, hard work and service. During his tenure with Superior Group of Companies, Inc., which began in 1979 the company has grown from a $54 million in revenues to the $500 million company it is today.
Throughout his forty-four years at Superior he has held many titles. He was promoted in 1992 from his position of Executive Vice President of Manufacturing to Co-President. The Board of Directors subsequently appointed him to the position of Chief Executive Officer in October 2003.
Michael has served in many capacities within Pinellas County and the West Coast of Florida and on the board of many charitable organizations. In addition, he also served as a founding Director and Chairman of the audit committee of USAmeriBank, Inc. from 2007 until its sale to Valley National Bank in 2017.
Michael has served in many capacities within Pinellas County and the West Coast of Florida and on the board of many charitable organizations. He resides in Pinellas County and Park City, Utah and has 9 grandkids to brag about.
