Tia Collier

Senior Education Policy Analyst at Committee for Economic Development

Tia Collier supports the effective implementation of CED’s portfolio of work on a diverse range of programs and projects in early childhood, K-12, post-secondary education, and workforce development.

Tia previously served as the Founding Director of the Newark Fairmount Promise Neighborhood (NFPN) initiative within the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers University – Newark. Prior to her role at Rutgers University, Tia served as a Senior Legislative Advisor in the US Congress where her portfolio included education, workforce, health, and small business issues.

Tia’s work within the field of education has been heavily influenced by her tenure as a 6th grade English Language Arts teacher in Brooklyn, NY. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Rider University and a Master of Science from Pace University.
