Gianluca Gindro has a wide range of work experience. In 2009, they were an MBA student at INSEAD, where they were an active member of the entrepreneurship club and defined a business plan for a web 2.0 start-up in the fashion industry. Gianluca also worked as an Internet Discovery Summer Intern at Vodafone Group, where they were responsible for marketing strategy for the launch of new services in the mobile internet space and analysis of the market and competitive environment for mobile billing and location services. In 2010, they began working at Groupon as a Global Marketing Analytics Product Manager, where they were responsible for product management globally for big data web and mobile analytics. Gianluca went on to become the Head of Data Analytics, EMEA and the Head of Data Engineering, EMEA at Groupon. In 2016, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at GeoPhy HQ and as a Business Intelligence Consultant at JOB TODAY. In 2018, they were a Senior Data Analytics Instructor at Product School and a Lead Data Engineer/Data Scientist at Creative AI. In 2019, they were the Head of Analytics & Data Science at Kuoni Global Travel Services. Currently, they are the Founder of THE DATA MBA, an MBA-style data science course to learn how to think about data and how to ask the right questions with data, and the Head of Data at Commonplace, a community engagement platform.
Gianluca Gindro began their education in 1997 at the Politecnico di Torino, where they studied Telecommunication Engineering until 2003. In 2001, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago, which they completed in 2002. Gianluca then went on to receive their Master of Business Administration - MBA from INSEAD in 2009.
