Kathy’s accountabilities include nursing practice, patient care services, care coordination, advanced practice clinicians, nurse education, nursing research, patient experience and internal physician advisory services. She joined Catholic Health Initiatives in 2006 and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. Before that, the former U.S. Army officer served as Chief Nurse and Acting State Surgeon/Medical Commander of the Washington Army National Guard. Kathy has served on multiple health care and community boards, including the boards of the American Hospital Association, the Tri-Council for American Nursing, and as President of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore; a master’s degree in human resources management from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles; a master’s degree in business administration from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Wash.; and a doctorate degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
