Praveen Kumar, P.E. has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Praveen began their career as an Engineering Intern at Volvo Construction Equipment in 2007, where they focused on system analysis and feasibility studies for a hybrid excavator. In 2008, they continued as an Engineering Intern at both International Transmission Company and Commonwealth Associates Inc. Following this, they transitioned to a Research Assistant role at General Motors and the US Department of Energy where they worked on the EcoCar project involving hybrid car design and implementation. In 2009, Praveen joined Commonwealth Associates, where they worked as an Electrical Engineer focusing on transmission line and substation protection. Praveen eventually moved up to the role of Lead Electrical Engineer/Project Manager, responsible for various projects in Protection and Control. In 2018, they became the Office Lead and Program Manager at Commonwealth Associates, Inc., overseeing program management and leading the office. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in project management, proposal writing, client management, and P&L analysis.
Praveen Kumar, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Electronics from RV College of Engineering. Praveen also completed a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Power Systems from Michigan Technological University, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, Praveen obtained a Diploma in Astronomy and Astrophysics from M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research.
