Winston Lin

Winston Lin, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Manager Data Scientist at Commonwealth Bank, focusing on AI models and risk since August 2025. Prior to this, Winston held the position of Data Analytics & AI Lead at Australian Payments Plus, where pioneering GenAI use cases and integrating customized AI/ML models across finance and blockchain were key achievements. Winston's experience also includes leading AI initiatives at humm group, improving credit risk assessments through machine learning, and serving as Lead Data Scientist at CaltexAU, where guidance was provided to a team of data scientists. Additional roles at Westpac, Qantas, BizCubed, and as a Research Assistant during doctoral studies at the University of Sydney contributed to a diverse background in data analytics, machine learning, and business strategy. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Engineering & Information Technologies from the University of Sydney and a Master's in Software Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
