John Delaney has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity and military operations. John is currently the Managing Director of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI), where they focus on research, education, and engagement in cybersecurity. Prior to this role, they served as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Army Cyber Command, where they led and organized a 700-person staff and oversaw a $1 million budget. Delaney also worked as the Chief of Staff of the Army, Senior Fellow at The Washington Institute For Near East Policy, where they participated in the formulation of U.S. foreign and defense policy for the Middle East region. John has also held leadership roles in the U.S. Army, including Brigade Commander, Fire Support Coordinator, and Battalion Commander, where they were responsible for training, operations, and the overall welfare of soldiers.
John Delaney has a diverse education history. John obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Elon University between 1986 and 1991. Later, in 2002 and 2003, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University. In 2012 and 2013, they attended The Eisenhower School at the National Defense University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in National Security and Resource Strategy. Furthermore, in May 2013, they obtained a Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance with a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph from the United States Government.
