Kayla Ruppe

Kayla Ruppe is a Substation Engineer at ComEd since January 2018, with a focus on Distributed Energy Resource initiatives and interconnection rulemaking. Kayla has contributed to IEEE 1547 standards and published a paper on climate change in the context of electric utilities. Previous roles at ComEd include Associate Energy Engineer and Associate Rotational Engineer, where responsibilities ranged from facility assessments and energy savings analysis to developing analytics tools in Matlab. Kayla's early experience includes internships in regional reliability and manufacturing engineering at ComEd and other organizations. Currently pursuing a Master's in Energy Policy & Climate at Johns Hopkins University, Kayla holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University with a focus on Sustainable Energy.
