Mojtaba Safabakhsh

Mojtaba Safabakhsh is a mechanical engineering professional with extensive experience in design, management, and engineering across various sectors, including fusion energy and wave energy technologies. Currently serving as the Mechanical Design Lead at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since January 2022, Mojtaba previously held key positions such as Head of Fabrication at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and Mechanical Engineering Manager at Ocean Power Technologies. With a solid educational background, including a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Math from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Mojtaba has demonstrated expertise in product development, process engineering, and project management throughout a prolific career, which began as the owner of ThermaWorks, Inc. and included significant contributions at companies like Gamesa and Bosch Rexroth.
