Nakul Bende

Nakul Bende is a highly experienced materials engineer and scientist with a strong background in polymer science and engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Materials Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Nakul specializes in developing specialty polymers for commercial fusion energy applications. Previous roles include a Materials Scientist and Team Lead at Formlabs, where Nakul contributed to the formulation and commercialization of advanced 3D printing materials and managed interdisciplinary teams focused on optimizing print processes. Nakul's earlier experience includes leadership positions at Avient Corporation, and a graduate research assistantship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where Nakul authored multiple research papers and led STEM outreach initiatives. Education includes a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as an integrated dual degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
