Catherine Califano

Catherine Califano currently serves as the Deputy Secretary for Business Operations at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of General Services since September 2023. Prior to this role, Catherine held the position of First Deputy Director for the City of Philadelphia from February 2016 to September 2023, where leadership responsibilities included overseeing communications, HR, IT, and finance teams for over 200 employees and managing a budget exceeding $180 million. Catherine's previous experience includes serving as Associate Director of Policy Solutions at Reinvestment Fund, focusing on public sector client support and project management, and various roles within the City of Philadelphia, including Deputy Secretary of the Office of Housing and Community Development and Director of Economic Development for the Philadelphia Empowerment Zone. Catherine obtained a Master of Government Administration from the Fels Center at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from St. John's University.
