Sara Gavin

Sara Gavin is the current Chief Behavioral Health Officer at CommuniCare Health Centers. Sara has held this position since November 2018. Prior to that, they were the Director of Behavioral Health at CommuniCare for four years. Before that, they were a Family Services Supervisor and Lead Clinician for Substance Use Programs, both also at CommuniCare.

Sara began their career in the mental health field as an intern at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in 2006. After their internship, they worked as a therapist and advocate at NAMI Yolo before taking on the role of Psychotherapist and Program Coordinator at Golden State Therapy. In 2007, they returned to CommuniCare Health Centers, where they have remained ever since.

Sara Gavin attended the University of California, San Francisco for their masters degree, Boston College for their bachelors degree, and the University of Southern California for their bachelors degree.

Sara Gavin reports to Melissa Marshall, CEO. Some of their coworkers include Meghan Nousaine - Director of Development, Jeff Novick - Director of IT, and Lynnette Brady - Director of Health Information Systems.
