Amanda Burns has a diverse work experience spanning the fields of education and community action. Amanda began their career in 2011 at the Manheim Central School District, where they served as a Kindergarten Teacher and later as the Early Childhood Liaison and Assistant KtO Program Director. Amanda also worked as the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. In 2017, they transitioned to the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County, where they held various roles, including Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction, Education and Child Development Assistant Impact Team Leader, Education & Child Development Impact Team Leader, Vice President of Education, and currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer.
Amanda Burns has a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education. Amanda also holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. In addition to their degrees, Amanda obtained a certification from Work Wisdom Academy, which is affiliated with Work Wisdom LLC, in December 2021.

The Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County champions the achievement of long-term self-sufficiency for individuals and families through services and advocacy targeting the elimination of poverty. Each year CAP reaches nearly 30,000 low-income families through services that support child development & education, health & nutrition, household stability, and public safety & violence prevention to help them not only meet their essential daily needs but to work toward long-term financial self-sufficiency.
