Kavelle Christie is the Director of the Gender Equity and Health Justice Program (formerly, the Women's Health Program) at Community Catalyst. She joined Community Catalyst in January of 2020 as the Associate Director of the program, after serving as a Public Policy and Engagement Specialist and a Community Organizer, for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. In those roles, she lobbied at the Rhode Island statehouse, co-managed a RI reproductive health and rights coalition of more than 20 community organizations, expanded PPSNE’s advocacy agency to include reproductive intersectionality, and managed a Black Maternal Health Campaign in RI alongside community partners. Previously, she was campaign manager for a successful RI state representative campaign, served as a field organizer for electoral campaigns in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania and worked in public relations and the news media in Kingston, Jamaica. She is completing her Master’s in Global Health at the University of Manchester, UK.
Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses, and on Capitol Hill.
