Shivan Nelson

Shivan Nelson has extensive work experience in the dental field. Beginning in 2011, they worked as a Dentist and Dental Director at Community Dental Care, where they were proficient in providing compassionate care to patients of all ages. They were also experienced in training staff, teaching students, and coaching newly hired dentists. In 2013, Shivan became an Associate Dentist at Grove Health Dental, where they provided comprehensive dental care, gained a better understanding of private office operations, and worked with a variety of patients. In 2016, they briefly worked as a Consultant/Product Ideation at DenTek Oral Care, Inc. Prior to these roles, Shivan worked as an Instructor at Foss Swim School from 2009 to 2011 and as a Summer Intern at Bemidji Orthodontics from 2002 to 2007. This intern experience helped them gain a deeper understanding of clinic operations and appreciate the importance of each staff member in an organization's success.

Shivan Nelson's education history starts with attending Bemidji High School from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they enrolled in the College of Saint Benedict and completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honors Program in Natural Sciences from 2004 to 2007. During the same year, Nelson briefly studied Natural Sciences at Nelson Mandela University. In 2007, they joined the University of Minnesota and obtained a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Nelson became a MN Board Certified Dentist in June 2011, and information about their DEA licensure is unavailable. In 2017, Nelson pursued further education by completing a Mini MBA for Nonprofit Organizations at the University of St. Thomas.
