Megan Burke

Megan Burke is an accomplished leader in philanthropy and social justice with extensive experience in nonprofit management. Currently serving as President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts since January 2023, Megan previously held significant roles at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, where as Director of Community Impact Grantmaking, oversight included equitable grantmaking efforts and management of a $25 million budget. Prior to this, Megan was the Executive Director of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines and the Cluster Munition Coalition, advocating for the implementation of treaties against landmines and cluster munitions. With a robust background in community engagement and strategic grantmaking, Megan has contributed to numerous initiatives aimed at promoting social equity, particularly within underserved populations. Academic credentials include an MA in International Relations from Yale University and a BA in Political Science from Wellesley College.

Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts was founded in 1991 to serve the needs of the Pioneer Valley. Encompassing 69 cities and towns in the Connecticut River Valley (Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties), the Foundation provides a vehicle for residents to focus their philanthropy on this beautiful and increasingly diverse region.
