Baljeet Sandhu MBE is an accomplished leader in social entrepreneurship and community empowerment, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Centre for Knowledge Equity since March 2020. Concurrently, Baljeet holds the position of Visiting Fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. As a co-founder of the LEx Leaders Movement, Baljeet is instrumental in connecting and supporting Lived Experience Leaders. Baljeet's extensive experience includes roles as a Founding Partner of the 2027 Programme, Programme Designer and Learning Partner with The National Lottery Community Fund, and Innovator in Residence at Yale University. Previous positions include Solicitor and Founding Director at the Migrant & Refugee Children's Legal Unit, along with participation in the Clore Social Leadership Programme and co-directing the Refugee Children's Rights Project. Baljeet's contributions to the field have been recognized through significant fellowships and initiatives aimed at enhancing community well-being and leadership.

The board is responsible for setting the Fund’s long-term strategy and key policies, and making sure that it’s run in an effective and efficient way. Itdelegates the day-to-day running of the organisation to the chief executive and her senior management team.The chief executive and her senior management team are responsible for delivering the strategy and policies set by the board. They oversee the day-to-day running of the Fund.Their work is divided into five portfolios, covering funding across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland, and the UK as a whole.
