Joshua Wood

Joshua Wood is a primary care sports medicine physician at Northern Nevada Health System since August 2020, also providing urgent care services. Previously, Joshua completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Nevada, Reno, from July 2019 to January 2022, and served as a medical resident at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley from July 2016 to January 2022. Early in the medical journey, Joshua gained experience in various roles including triage and front desk at Bridges Medical Clinic, EMT and nurse's aide at Skaggs Hospital, and EMT and ambulance driver for Rural/Metro Corporation. Joshua earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara between 2011 and 2015, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from College of the Ozarks.
