Travis C. Walker M.D., Mph

Travis C. Walker MD MPH has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Travis C. is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Community Health Alliance Nevada since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Pinnacle Medical Group as a Family Medicine Physician and later as a Medical Director from December 2021 to February 2023.

From August 2018 to December 2021, Dr. Walker worked at Renown Health as a Family Medicine Physician and served as the Section Chief of Primary Care for 36 physicians and advanced practice providers. During their time at Renown Health, they played a key role in implementing early value-based care initiatives and provided training to providers on various healthcare metrics.

Before joining Renown Health, Dr. Walker held the position of Chief Resident at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine from July 2017 to June 2018. Travis C. also worked as a Resident Physician at the same institution from July 2014 to June 2018, gaining valuable experience in family medicine under the supervision of experienced community physicians.

Dr. Walker's earlier work experience includes roles such as Scribe/Orderly/Materials Handler at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, Parks/Pools Supervisor at Wild Island Family Adventure Park, Research Technician at USDA, and Snowboard Instructor at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.

Throughout their career, Dr. Walker has demonstrated strong clinical leadership, expertise in value-based care strategies, and a commitment to patient well-being. Travis C. has also pursued additional education, obtaining a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree during their residency training.

Dr. Travis C. Walker completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2009. Travis C. also pursued additional coursework at Truckee Meadows Community College from 2003 to 2005 in Fire Science/Fire-Technology. In 2007 and 2008, they studied Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad de Chile.

Travis C. then went on to earn their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014. Following their medical degree, Dr. Walker pursued Graduate Medical Education in Family Medicine from 2014 to 2018 at the same institution.

In 2015, Dr. Walker enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno for their Master of Public Health (M.P.H.). Their field of study for the MPH degree was Health/Health Care Administration/Management and Policy. Travis C. completed the program in 2020.

Throughout their education, Dr. Walker also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. Travis C. obtained certification in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics from the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2017. Additionally, they became a Board Certified Family Physician through the American Board of Family Medicine in 2018.
