Paula Dygert

Paula Dygert has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. Paula is the owner of Simplicity Direct Care, a primary care practice that focuses on fostering doctor-patient relationships based on mutual respect and individualized care.

Prior to that, Paula worked at CHAS Health as a locums physician in urgent care. Paula also served as a primary care physician, where they enjoyed collaborating with patients to help them live their best lives. Additionally, they worked as a locum physician at CHAS Health.

Paula has also contributed to the medical community as a Clinical Associate Professor at WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. Paula worked as an attending physician and assisted with clinical operations, including providing mobile primary care services and participating in COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

Before joining WSU, Paula was a Regional Lead Provider at Vera Whole Health's Vivacity Care Centers and a physician at CHAS Health.

Paula has significant teaching and mentoring experience as Core Faculty and Associate Program Director of Clinic at Family Medicine Residency Spokane. Prior to that, they held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where they specialized in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Paula's early career involved working in a private practice setting at Afton Family Health Center. During this time, they collaborated with their father in a rural family medicine practice, teaching medical students and providing volunteer precepting.

Dr. Paula Dygert pursued their education at various prestigious institutions. Paula began their educational journey at Boston University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from 1992 to 1996. Following this, they enrolled at Boston University School of Medicine, obtaining their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from 1996 to 2000.

After completing their medical studies, Dr. Dygert continued their training at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital. From 2000 to 2004, they underwent a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Paula excelled in their studies and obtained additional certifications during this time. In October 2004, they became certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and they also achieved certification in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) during the same month and year. These certifications reflect their expertise and dedication to both specialties.
