Elvin Melendez, MBA, CCHW, MHFA has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries. Elvin began their career in 1988 as a Student Services Associate at Metropolitan Career Institute (MCI). From 1992 to 1994, they served as a School Safety Officer for the NYC Board of Education Division of School Safety. Elvin then transitioned to Healthfirst, where they worked as a Customer Service Representative from 1994 to 1996, and later as a Provider Relations Specialist from 1996 to 1998.

In 1998, Elvin joined BRONX-LEBANON HOSPITAL CENTER - CONCOURSE DIVISION. Elvin initially held the role of Managed Care Associate from 1998 to 2001, before becoming a Resource Manager from 2001 to 2004.

From 2006 to 2011, Elvin worked at Bellas Cafe as a Manager, overseeing corporate and private off-premise catering and maintaining quality control and safety standards.

Elvin's next role was at Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc., where they held multiple positions. Starting in 2011, they served as an Events Planner, organizing forums, workshops, and webinars for target populations. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Program Manager, overseeing the KHAIR Program for teenagers in New Haven. In 2017, they were promoted to Manager, Community Affairs and Engagement, responsible for designing and implementing community initiatives and managing partnerships. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Community Affairs and Engagement, providing oversight of the department and ensuring programs are culturally and linguistically appropriate.

Throughout their career, Elvin has demonstrated a strong commitment to community engagement, program management, and promoting diversity and equity.

Elvin Melendez, MBA, CCHW, MHFA has an extensive education history. Elvin started by earning an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Monroe College, which they completed between 1990 and 1992. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration, Management, and Operations at Monroe College from 1996 to 1998. Elvin's education journey continued with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Program Management from Post University, which they completed from 2016 to 2018.

In addition to their academic achievements, Elvin Melendez has obtained significant certifications. In October 2020, they became a certified Community Health Worker through the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Continuing their commitment to mental health, in October 2021, Elvin became a certified Mental Health First Aider through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
