Stacie Young

Stacie Young has a diverse work experience in the field of affordable housing and community development. Stacie is currently the President and CEO of Community Investment Corporation, a role they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of the Preservation Compact, a policy collaborative aimed at preserving affordable rental housing in the Chicago metro area. In this role, they were involved in various initiatives, including the development and launch of a $34.5 million mezzanine debt fund to promote affordable units in higher cost neighborhoods.

Before joining Community Investment Corporation, Stacie worked at the City of Chicago, where they served as the Assistant to the Mayor on Affordability in the Mayor's Office from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they were the Director of Policy and Research at the Department of Housing from 1999 to 2003.

Stacie's career in community development began in 1992 at the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, where they worked as the Community Development Manager at Diversity Inc. until 1999.

Stacie Young obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Northwestern University, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, completing their studies from 1997 to 1999.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT CORPORATION, Chicago's Multifamily Rehab Lender, is a nonprofit providing mortgage financing to buy and rehab apartment buildings with five units or more in the 6-county metropolitan Chicago area. Since 1999 over 14,000 landlords and managers have completed CIC property management training to help them better market, manage and maintain affordable rental property. CIC also provides below-market financing for multifamily energy improvements in the Energy Savers program. Since 1984 CIC has loaned over $1.2 billion for acquisition and rehab of over 2,200 buildings with 58,000 units. In 2012 CIC received the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions.
