Karen Jerome-Zapadka currently serves as President of Valley Gastroenterology Associates and has held numerous leadership roles, including Founding Member of the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners and Co-Chairman of the HVHS Metabolic Task Force. With a medical background focused on obesity and liver health, Karen is the Medical Director at Valley Gastroenterology Center for Obesity Medicine and has chairs or co-chairs various committees, including the Education Committee for NASH kNOWledge. An accomplished physician and partner since January 2000 at Valley Gastroenterology Associates and Four Seasons Endoscopy Center, Karen's extensive education includes a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh and board certifications in Gastroenterology and Obesity Medicine.

Community Liver Alliance
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, the Community Liver Alliance has grown to have a national presence while still holding true to a mission to invest in local communities and give voice to patients and providers. The CLA is dedicated to supporting the community through liver disease awareness, prevention, education, advocacy and research. Supported by a network of patients, caregivers, health care professionals and community leaders, CLA develops and runs educational workshops, coordinates support groups, facilities linkage to medical care and provides education to health care professionals, patients and caregivers.
