Kim Selvaggi brings 20 years of experience as an innovative leader in human services to the Community Solutions team. Until the recent merger, Ms. Selvaggi was the Executive Director of LISA, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides residential and community-based programs for youth in the child protection system. Her leadership helped reduce inefficiencies, steady the organizational culture, and improve the quality of services provided for system-involved youth. Prior to joining LISA, Inc. Ms. Selvaggi was the President of TaylorLane Consulting, LLC, providing consultation, training, and technical assistance for non-profit, state, and federal agencies in the United States and Canada. She co-authored the Trauma Informed Effective Reinforcement System (TIER) for Girls; a comprehensive, gender responsive behavior motivation system, the Gender Responsive Policy and Program Assessment (GPPPA) instrument for the National Institute of Corrections, and several female responsive curricula. She is also a Certified Training Associate for Dr. Stephanie Covington's Voices curriculum.
For 12 years, Ms. Selvaggi was a member of the Center for Best Practices at State of CT Judicial Branch, Court Support Services Division. She headed the implementation of female responsive and trauma-informed programs throughout CT, driving policy and practice change. Her work to deinstitutionalize status offenders and disseminate research and evidence-based practices resulted in significant improvements in detention, probation, and in the network of alternative services across Connecticut. She is currently the Treasurer of the Board of Directors at the Connecticut Women's Consortium and a member of the Children's League of Connecticut. Ms. Selvaggi holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from the University of Connecticut.
