Kirk Henderson

Deputy Chief - Logistics at Community Volunteer Fire Department

Kirk Henderson has extensive work experience in the firefighting industry. Kirk began their career in 2002 as a Firefighter/EMT with the Houston Fire Department. Over the years, they progressed through different roles within the department, including Engineer/Operator, Captain in Fire Suppression & EMS, and eventually became a Senior Captain on the Hazardous Materials Response Team in March 2021. Additionally, Kirk has also worked at the Community Volunteer Fire Department, starting in 2005 as a Firefighter/EMT. Kirk later held various positions within the department, such as Battalion Chief in Emergency Operations and Captain in Health & Safety Officer | Infection Control Officer. Currently, they serve as the Deputy Chief in Logistics at the Community Volunteer Fire Department.

Kirk Henderson obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Houston Community College, where they studied from 2002 to 2014. Kirk then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Service Leadership at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, completing their studies from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, Kirk has acquired several certifications, including an Airport Rescue Firefighter certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, obtained in March 2018. Kirk also holds certifications such as Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Hazardous Materials Technician, Master Structure Firefighter, Fire Instructor II, Driver-Operator-Pumper, Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, and a Texas All Lines Adjuster License, which they obtained at different points in time.
