John Erickson

John Erickson is an accomplished professional in the field of environmental engineering, currently serving as Technical Director at the Community Water Center since November 2020. With a diverse background, John has held various roles including Independent Consultant and Community Solutions Manager. Previously, John was a Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Lecturer at Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, and served as Senior Principal Engineer, Principal Engineer, and Assistant Engineer at Hazen and Sawyer. Early career experiences include conducting impactful research at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on water quality and supply issues in Panama, interning at the American Water Works Association and California Public Utilities Commission, and working on engineering projects in Central America. John holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering, as well as Master's degrees in both Public Policy and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.
