Barbara Brooks-Shirley

Barbara Brooks-Shirley is a native Texan and devotes her life to her family, church fellowship, and community service. She attended Prairie View University, St. Luke’s Licensed Vocational School, the Academy of Computer Technology, and Bible Study Fellowship International. Currently, Brooks-Shirley is a prison minister.

Her professional pursuits have included employment as a licensed vocational nurse and technology positions such as telecommunications trainer and programming assistant.

Her faith-based activities include serving as a member of the clergy staff at the Travis County Correction Complex in Del Valle, church administration, and participation in a finance mentoring program. She is also a leader for Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step program.
