Pedro Joel Horstmann has been an employee of the Company since 1985 when he joined the electromechanical team in Florianópolis, where he went through numerous roles in the company. In 1994, he took over the Coordination of the Water Mains Maintenance and Conservation Team and the Supervision of ETA Morro dos Quadros, where he remained for a decade.
He also served as Head of the Integrated Sector of the Metropolitan Region, Head of the Operational Sector of the Metropolitan Region, Head of Division at SRM, and Operational Manager. In June 2018 he was appointed Metropolitan Regional Superintendent.
In all these positions, engineer Pedro Joel Horstmann acquired great skill and experience in maintenance and operation management, as well as in contract and works management.
Pedro is a Mechanical Technician who graduated in Civil Engineering from Unisul and specialized in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine at the same university, Joel has been linked to the Company since childhood. His father, José Pedro, worked for 53 years in favor of sanitation, initially in the former DAES and, from 1971, as an employee of CASAN, where he named the largest Water Treatment Plant in the State, Morro dos Quadros, officially designated “ETA José Pedro Horstmann”.

Companhia Catarinense de Aguas e Saneamento Casan (Casan) is a Brazil-based company primarily engaged in the operation of water treatment plants and water supply systems. The Company is active in the planning, operation and exploration of the sewage and water utility infrastructure, as well as in performance of basic sanitation works in partnership with municipalities of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The Company also operates regional laboratories to monitor the physical, chemical and bacteriological factors in water and sewage throughout its service area. As of December 31, 2011, it operated 247 water supply systems and 37 sewage systems in 199 municipalities located in the state of Santa Catarina and one in the state of Parana, supplying approximately 2.5 million inhabitants. The Company is controlled by the government of the state Santa Catarina.
