David Robbins

David Robbins has a diversified work experience spanning several industries and roles. David began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as a Computer Operator and later transitioned to the role of Applications Programmer and Unix System Administrator.

Following their military service, David worked as an Information Technology Instructor at Metropolitan Community College on a part-time basis.

David then joined First Data Corporation as a Systems Programmer IV before moving on to Securities America, Inc. as a Database/Unix Administrator. In this role, they were responsible for managing Sybase and Microsoft SQL databases as well as overseeing the maintenance of Sun/Linux Servers used for various applications. David also played a key role in establishing requirements for EMC Symmetrix and Clarrion hardware RAIDs to ensure uninterrupted operations and off-site recovery capabilities.

David's next career move was to ConAgra Foods, where they held the positions of Senior Systems Engineer and Senior Database Administrator. As a Senior Systems Engineer, they were involved in the design and implementation of ConAgra's Oracle Transportation Management system and led the migration of Linux Apache/Tomcat websites. Additionally, they created SAP performance tests using LoadRunner and managed various systems and vendor relationships. In their role as Senior Database Administrator, David was responsible for managing and ensuring the operational support of hundreds of Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases, as well as the Sun-Clustered database environments and EMC storage systems.

After their tenure at ConAgra Foods, David joined TD Ameritrade as a Technical Operations Engineering Consultant. In this role, they designed and implemented TD Ameritrade's Splunk IT Service Intelligence platform, which enabled comprehensive infrastructure management, service visibility, and anomaly detection.

Currently, David is working as a Lead Splunk Consultant at TM Floyd & Company. David leads a team of part-time Splunk consultants responsible for maintaining the Splunk environment for the federal Medicare/Medicaid program. David also managed the ITSI environment, which serves as the primary monitoring and alerting system, and oversaw the successful transition of the Splunk Cloud environment to internal Splunk environments.

Throughout their career, David Robbins has consistently showcased their technical expertise and leadership skills, making significant contributions to the organizations they have worked with.

David Robbins received their Associate in Applied Science degree in Information Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, which they completed between 1993 and 1995. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Bellevue University, completing it between 1995 and 1997. In addition to their formal education, David also obtained the Splunk Core Certified User certification from Splunk in March 2020.
